Title: Settlement Policy Network Teleconference August 17th 2011

Dear Network members,

The Refugee Council of Australia (RCOA) and Settlement Council of Australia (SCOA) invite you to the latest National Settlement Policy Network Teleconference. The National Settlement Policy Network will provide an opportunity for RCOA and SCOA members to participate in planning joint advocacy on settlement issues.

The next Settlement Policy Network meeting will be on 17th August 2011 at 3pm AEST.

This month the teleconference will focus on:
 

Measuring settlement: 
Exploring new research on refugee settlement outcomes and its implications for settlement services and policy.

Guest speakers on the day include Graeme Hugo, author of the recently published  "Economic, Social and civic contributions of first and second generation Humanitarian Entrants"
 

Members of RCOA and SCOA are encouraged to attend one of the dial-in hubs in their capital city. The details and addresses of these are outlined in the invitation which can be found here. In this invitation you will also find the agenda for the afternoon. If you are unable to attend one of the dial-in hubs, remote dial in detais are outlined below. Please advise in your RSVP which hub you will be attending, or whether you shall be dialling in.

In preparation for the teleconference, a background paper has been produced for you to review. In this paper you will find background information on both the two reports being discussed at this teleconference - Settlement Outcomes of New Arrivals (SONA) and Economic, Social and Civic contributions of first and second generation Humanitarian entrants. We encourage you to review this paper prior to the SPN teleconference on the 17th August. You can find the paper
