Who We Are
SCOA is a legally constituted body, which was incorporated in 2003 as the National Council of Migrant Resource and Settlement Agencies (NCMRSA) the first peak body formed to advocate on behalf of the settlement sector.
The NCMRSA changed its name to the Settlement Council of Australia in 2008. SCOA is made up of member organisations from all states and territories in Australia. For more information about our members see our

SCOA is governed by an Executive Committee and managed by an Executive Officer. The Executive Committee are elected by the member organisations, with each state and territory having one representative, except NSW and Victoria which have two representatives. See our current
SCOA’s advocacy is based on the following values :
human rights, under which broad value others are subsets, including
access and equity
social justice and social inclusion, and transparent, accountable, respectful and client-centered governance  and focus.
 Client-centred governance is a term to describe organisations which have governance structures which facilitate client feedback, include clients on management committees and are oriented towards client representation.
