Community Relations Integration Officer (CRIO) Program - Evaluation Report

This evaluation report assesses the extent to which the program achieved its aims. This is preceded by a summary of projects’ major achievements including their self assessment of success factors. Comments regarding projects sustainability and future plans are also included.

One of the strategies approved by Cabinet as part of the Western Australian Inclusion and Integration Action Plan to address issues of marginalisation, alienation and social exclusion was the funding of a Community Relations Integration Officer (CRIO) program. It was developed in response to issues raised in consultations with new and emerging communities (NECs), and non-government organisations which indicated that many members of NECs in Western Australia were experiencing barriers to accessing, or were unaware of, the range of services and programs available to them. Young people were identified as particularly vulnerable to factors that impact on successfully accessing relevant services and programs.
