SECHUB TV
Community leaders are trained with video skills to use for advocacy
In an attempt to correctly find out community needs CBMRC has trained local small and emerging community group leaders with film making. The participants spent 20 hour individual tutoring with the trainers. They have produced short films and learnt how they can distribute the messages using existing platforms such as You Tube.
SECHUB TV channel has been created in You Tube and community groups can continue with film making and share it.
The participating community leaders received one on one tutorial covering story making, video shooting, interview technique and uploading video files. They now have understanding of how they can utilise the skill for further community development.
Video training has been found as appropriate medium for the participants to raise their own voice. The participants, particularly younger age group showed great interest. One women’s group has been successful in getting local club fund and commencing film making on African Women’s Health issue. Young Sudanese group approached and presented project idea of producing video resource for the local Sudanese community.
Further work is required to explore opportunities to develop into vocational and employment training. Further investment is also required for promotion of SEC HUB TV.
